FIELD PAINTERS (all equipment is located in the soccer shed)
The field must be painted every week so that the fields are clearly lined for each week's games AND so that the field lines do not fade away before the subsequent weekxs painting. Itxs preferable to paint the fields on Thursday or Friday rather than waiting until Saturday morning. Painters and paint may be found in the storage shed in the north Sequoia School parking lot; the shed combination is 4448. Please make sure the shed is locked after use.
FLAGS/GOAL SET-UP (corner flags and stakes are located in the soccer shed)
The first home team of the day on each field is responsible for set-up of goals and corner flags. The goals will be locked together on the lower field. The goals will be unlocked on Saturday morning. If you find the goals locked, please look for a goal key, hanging on the wall inside and to the right of the door of the soccer shed. AS COACHES WE HAVE THE RESPONSIBILITY OF PROTECTING OUR PLAYERS. ALL GOALS MUST BE STAKED TO THE GROUND WITH TWO STAKES AT THE BACK OF EACH GOAL. THIS KEEPS THEM FROM FALLING FORWARD ONTO A CHILD DURING WINDY CONDITIONS OR WHEN A CHILD IMPROPERLY USE THEM. If you do not find stakes with the goals, please get them out of the soccer shed. It will be useful to carry a hammer in your soccer bag. You should place one flag at each of the four corners of your field.
FLAGS/GOAL TAKE-DOWN
The last home team of the day on each field is responsible for take-down of goals and corner flags. Remove the stakes and take the goals to the goal storage area on the east side of the lower field by the blackberry bushes. Place the U6 goals together face to face; the U8 and U10 goals will go around the U6 goals and be locked to prevent goals from being stolen and from tipping over onto a child. Return the field flags to the soccer shed.
TRASH
Along with all of the other duties that we ask you as coaches, please look around the playing field for trash and dispose of it properly. Sequoia School has graciously permitted us to use their fields. We need to show our appreciation by taking care of them.
Thank you for coaching and thank you for assisting with these field duties. For further questions contact RYSL's field coordinator at phone 222-0387 or email fields@reddingsoccer.com.
