Meet Alek Pinnell – a true champion of the game! As a 3rd generation President of RYSL, Alek brings unmatched passion and experience from his roles as a player, coach, fan, and referee. A former State-level referee with a history of officiating at some of the nation’s premier tournaments, he upholds the highest standards of integrity and skill on and off the field. Alek’s dedication embodies the spirit of soccer, inspiring both players and fans to love the game.

Meet Donovan Geyer – a dedicated and dynamic leader in our community! Serving as the Board's Secretary and Risk Management Director, Donovan brings both passion and expertise to his role. As a proud father of four, he is deeply committed to fostering a positive and thriving environment for all players, including his own kids and their friends. Donovan is a certified referee who actively promotes fair play and sportsmanship on the field. 

Meet Sabrina – a compassionate and dedicated individual who values honesty and integrity in all she does. As a mother of three and a devoted caregiver, Sabrina places family at the heart of her life, offering unwavering support to those around her with kindness and empathy. Her active role as a parent liaison and member of the parent club at her children’s school reflects her commitment to fostering a strong, connected community where everyone feels supported and included.

​Meet Michael Caranci – a seasoned soccer player and coach with deep roots in the sport. As a youth, Michael played for several Bay Area clubs, as well as De La Salle High School and the University of Puget Sound. His coaching journey began in 2015 with RYSL before transitioning to competitive soccer with NSS in 2018. Since 2019, Michael has also served as the head coach at St. Joseph School. Currently, he leads the Kaos 2010 team and was elected VP of Operations for Redding Soccer in 2023, bringing his experience and passion to every role he takes on.

Meet Josh Vandiver – a proud Redding resident with deep roots in the community. A graduate of Shasta High and Simpson University, Josh brings a wealth of experience as a retired Master Sergeant from the Marines and a dedicated City of Redding employee. Known for embracing challenges and crafting innovative solutions, Josh is passionate about helping young athletes grow, develop their skills, and compete at their highest potential, inspiring them to reach new heights.

Meet Brian Gibson – a lifelong Redding resident with a deep passion for soccer. Growing up, Brian played in Redding Recreation leagues through U-19, Shasta High School, and Shasta College. He spent years refereeing games across the state and has been coaching his three sons in RYSL since 2015. Dedicated to fostering growth and a love for the game, Brian is committed to ensuring Redding soccer continues to positively impact the lives of young players in our community.

Meet Jed Wilburn – a dedicated chiropractor, proud husband, and father of three. With years of coaching experience from U6 to U19, Jed has instilled a love for the game while promoting teamwork and sportsmanship. Bringing a unique perspective as both a coach and healthcare professional, Jed is committed to supporting player development and contributing to the growth and success of the youth soccer community.
